Palawan, Philippines

How is it possible to have such a wonderful, fresh, clean, underpopulated, safe, beautiful island...so close to the tragic confusion, corruption, gangland, beggerland...of cities of the likes of Manila and Cebu?
While there is communist rebels in places like Luzon, and separatists in Mindanao and the south; compared to all this, Palawan is a paradise.
Paradise if you can accept the poverty, lack of electricity, sanitation, a livable working wage...but smiles are big here, and it has escaped the sex-tourism taint that is a viral infection covering all of the Philippines.
Don't go there, come here. Palawan is a rural seaside paradise, where you don't need a clock. Just sit, watch and eat when food arrives.........the pace of life is, well, the pace of life here.
